歌ローマ |
mirume naki / waga mi o ura to / shiraneba ya / karenade ama no / ashi tayuku kuru / |
歌英語 |
does he not know that / this bay holds no seaweed still / comes the fisherman / in search of me though his legs / grow weary on his vain quest / |
解釈 |
"Mirume" means both "chance to meet" and a type of seaweed, Codium mucronatum. "Ura" is a kakekotoba meaning "buoy" and "callous"; "u" also means "sorrow." "Ura" (buoy) "mirume" (seaweed) and "ama" (fisherman) are engo. "Karu" (to reap), one meaning of the dictionary form of "karenade" (incessantly; not leaving), also may be engo. |
