"Chihayaburu" is a makurakotoba of uncertain meaning which modifies words relating to the gods, here "kamo no yashiro" the Kamo Shrine m Kyo~to. "Yu~tasuki" (bound with mulberry cords) is a makurakotoba modifying "kakenu" (not wearing;not thinking of). Mulberry bindings were used by the priests during the Kamo Festival in the Fourth Month. |
